 1. This is the book and arcanum of Jmmanuel, who is called "the one with godly knowledge"

 1. 이것은 임마누엘의 생애와 신비스러운 행적을 기록한 책이고, 임마누엘이란 '신의 지식을 가진 자'란 뜻입니다. 

 who is the son of Joseph, grandson of Jacob, a distant descendant of David.

임마누엘의 아버지는 요셉이고, 요셉의 아버지는 야곱이며, 야곱의 조상은 다윗이며 , 

David was a descendant of Abram (Abraham), whose genealogy traces back to Adam, the father of a lineage of terrestrial humans.

다윗의 조상이 아브라함이며, 아브라함의 혈통은 아담으로 거슬러 올라갑니다. 아담은 지구상의 한 인종의 조상인데, 

Adam was begotten by Semjasa, the leader of the celestial sons who were the guardian angels of god, the great ruler of the travelers from afar.*

(*The title "god" is not capitalized unless it refers to the Judeo-Christian God.)

그는 셈야자에 의해 태어났습니다. 셈야자는 신의 수호 천사들인 하늘의 아들들의 지도자였으며, 신은 그 먼 길을 여행하는 존재들의 위대한 지배자였습니다.

 2. Semjasa, the celestial son and guardian angel of god, the great ruler of the voyagers who travelled here through vast expanses of the universe,

took a terrestrial woman and begot Adam, the father of the white human population.

 3.  Adam took for himself an Earth wife and begot Seth.

 79.  Matthan begot Jacob.

 80.  Jacob begot Joseph.

 81.  Joseph was the husband of Mary, the mother of Jmmanuel,

 81. 요셉은 임마누엘의 모친인 마리아의 남편이었는데, 

who was impregnated by a distant descendant of the celestial son, Rasiel, who was the guardian angel of the secret.

마리아는 하늘의 아들이였으며 비밀 수호 천사인 라시엘의 먼 후손에 의해 임신하게 되었습니다.  

 

 82. When Joseph heard of Mary's secret impregnation by a descendant of the celestial sons from the lineage of Rasiel, behold,
 82. 요셉은 라시엘 혈통의 하늘의 아들들의 한 후손에 의해 마리아가 은밀히 임신했음을 알게 되자, 

he was filled with wrath and thought of leaving Mary before he would be married to her before the people.

그는 노여움에 사로잡혀 사람들 앞에서 결혼식을 올리기 전에 마리아로부터 떠나리라고 생각하였습니다.       

 

 83.  While Joseph was thinking in this manner, behold,
 83. 요셉이 이와 같이 생각하고 있을 때, 

a guardian angel, sent by Gabriel, the celestial son who had impregnated Mary, appeared and said:

마리아를 잉태시킨 하늘의 아들 가브리엘이 보낸 한 수호 천사가 나타나서 그에게 말하였습니다.  

 

 84. "Joseph, Mary is betrothed to you, and you are to become her spouse; do not leave her,
 84. "요셉, 마리아는 당신에게 맡겨졌고 당신은 그녀의 배필입니다. 그녀를 떠나지 마시오. 

because the fruit of her womb is chosen for a great purpose.

그녀의 뱃속에 있는 아기는 위대한 목적을 위해 선택되었기 때문입니다. 

Marry her in all openness, so that you may be husband and wife before the people.

당신의 온 마음을 다하여 그 여자와 결혼하시오. 그리하여 사람들 앞에서 남편과 아내가 되도록 하시오.  

 

 85. "Behold, the impregnation of Mary 

 85. 잘 들으시오. 마리아를 이런 식으로 임신시킨 것은 

occurred eleven thousand years after the procreation of Adam through the celestial son Semjasa,

하늘의 아들 셈야자가 아담을 탄생시킨 지 일만 일천 년 만에 생긴 일로서, 

to fulfill the word of god, the ruler of those who travelled from afar

이는 먼 데로부터 온 존재들의 지배자이신 신의 언약을 성취하기 위한 것입니다. 

who conveyed these words through the prophet Isaiah:

신은 예언자 이사야를 통해 말씀하셨습니다.  

 86. "'Behold, a virgin will be impregnated by a celestial son before she is married to a man before the people.
 86. '보라, 한 처녀가 남자와 사람들 앞에서 결혼하기 전에 하늘의 아들에 의해 잉태할 것이니라.  

 

 87. "'They will name the fruit of her womb Jmmanuel, which translated means 'the one with godly knowledge,'
 87. 사람들은 그 아기를 임마누엘이라 이름 할 것이니, 이는 '신의 지식을 가진 자'란 뜻이라, 

as a symbol and honor to god.

신에 대한 상징과 존경을 나타내노라. 

Through god's power and providential care the Earth was made to bear intelligent human life 

when the celestial sons, the travelers from the far reaches of the universe, mated with the women of Earth.

이는 신의 능력과 돌보시는 섭리에 의해 우주의 먼 곳에서 온 여행자들인 하늘의 아들들과 지구의 여인들이 짝을 지음으로 인해 지구가 지성적인 인간 생명을 가질 수 있게 되었기 때문이니라.'  

 

 88. "Behold, god and his followers came far from the depths of space, where they delivered themselves

 from a strong bondage, and
 88. 보시오, 신과 그의 수하들은 우주의 심연으로부터 오셨으니, 강한 속박으로부터 그들 스스로를 구해 내셨고 

created here a new human race and home with the early women of this Earth.

지구의 초기 여인들과 더불어 지구 위에 새로운 인류와 그들의 새로운 고향을 창조하셨습니다.

 

 89. "God deserves the honor of people of Earth, for behold;
 89. 신은 지구인들로부터 찬양을 받으시는 것이 마땅하니, 보시오, 이는 

he is the true originator of the white and of colored Earth humans, and 

그가 지구상의 백인종과 유색 인종들의 진정한 창조자이므로 

to him honor should be given.

그에게 영광을 돌리는 것은 당연한 일입니다.   

 

 90. "Except for him there is nothing equal in form for these human lineages created by him.
 90. 그에 의해 창조된 이 인류에게 있어서 신과 비교할 만한 존재는 없습니다. 

Besides him, therefore, people should have no other gods who created other human lineages in other parts of the Earth.

따라서 지구상의 다른 지역에 있는 다른 인종도 창조하신 이 신 외에는 어떠한 다른 신들도 섬길 수 없습니다. 

 

 91. "Except for god there is nothing of comparable form worthy of veneration.

 91. 신을 제외하고는 신의 명성에 비교할 만한 존재가 아무도 없습니다.

Over him and his celestial sons reigns only the omnipotence of all creation:

오직 모든 창조의 전지전능하심만이 신과 하늘의 아들들을 지배하십니다.

Creation itself, which should be revered.

창조 그 자체는 반드시 경배되어야 합니다.    

 

 92. "Behold, therefore; over the Earth reigns god, the master of the celestial sons and the people
      of the white and colored terrestrial lineages.
 92. 들으시오, 따라서 하늘의 아들들과 백인종과 유색 인종의 지배자이신 신이 이 지구를 다스리십니다. 

 

 93. "God is the lawgiver for these human populations and,
 93. 신은 이 인류에게 명령을 내리시는 분이십니다. 

therefore, his wishes should be fulfilled by man and woman.

따라서 모든 인간들은 남녀노소를 막론하고 그가 원하시는 바가 성취되도록 하여야만 합니다.

 

 94. "God, the lord, is generous in his love, 
 94. 주님이신 신은 사랑하실 때는 너그러우시나 

but also terrible in his wrath when his laws are disobeyed.

명령이 지켜지지 않아 화가 나셨을 때는 말할 수 없이 무서우십니다. 

 

 95. "Mary's impregnation is god's law, and you, 
 95. 마리아가 임신하게 된 것 또한 신의 명령에 의한 것입니다. 

Joseph, are to be her husband in matrimony"

요셉, 당신은 그녀와 결혼하여 그녀의 남편이 되어야 합니다. "     

 

The Birth of Jmmanuel

 96. When Joseph heard this, however, he was mindful of his devoutness to god's laws,

 98. This census was the first of its kind and occurred at the time that Cyrenius was governor in Syria.
 98. 이 인구조사는 인두세의 종류로는 최초의 것으로서 키레니우스가 시리아의 총독일 때 실시되었습니다. 
 99. All went to be assessed, each to his own town.
 99. 모든 사람들이 등록을 하기 위해 모두 제 고향으로 돌아갔습니다.
 100. Joseph of Galilee, of the town of Nazareth, also went with his wife Mary into the Judaic land to the 

city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
 100. 나자렛 마을에 살고 있던 갈릴레아 출신의 요셉도 다윗의 후손이었으므로, 베들레헴이라는 유대 땅에 있는 다윗의 한 고을로 아내 마리아와 함께 돌아갔습니다. 
 101. in order to be assessed with his wife, Mary, 
 101. 이는 아내인 마리아와 함께 등록을 하기 위해서였는데,

who was pregnant by the celestial son Gabriel from the lineage of Rasiel.

그때 마리아는 라시엘 혈통의 하늘의 아들 가브리엘에 의해 임신을 하고 있었습니다. 
 102. When they were there, the time came for her to give birth.
 102. 그들이 베들레헴에 도착했을 때, 마리아는 해산을 할 때가 임박했습니다. 
 103. Since they could find no shelter, they spent the night in a stable.
 103. 묵을 곳을 찾을 수가 없었기 때문에 그들은 한 마구간에서 밤을 지냈습니다. 
 104. And Mary bore her first son on the straw, wrapped him in cloth, 
 104. 그리고 마리아가 그녀의 첫아들을 짚 위에서 낳았습니다. 

and laid him in a manger near the animals,

그리고 아기를 천으로 싸서 짐승들 옆에 있는 구유 안에 뉘었습니다.

because there was no other room for her in the inn.
